Relatable! I do all of these things with my own daddy。 Love him!
Jenna Mills,
A bit of a disappointment after this was recommended on A Mighty Girl。 Not different or exciting and the idea of what a daddy means would not be relateable for every child。
Would've liked something that taught a little more character and was detailed enough to show a close bond。 Pictures were nice though。 Would've liked something that taught a little more character and was detailed enough to show a close bond。 Pictures were nice though。 。。。more
Magila,
3。5A run of the mill book that was in fact cute。 I liked this as well as any daddy-child book I've read so far。 Artwork is well executed, simple with some fun flourishes。 If you are looking for something to give to a daddy-to-be, and he is silly, this isn't a bad option。 3。5A run of the mill book that was in fact cute。 I liked this as well as any daddy-child book I've read so far。 Artwork is well executed, simple with some fun flourishes。 If you are looking for something to give to a daddy-to-be, and he is silly, this isn't a bad option。 。。。more

An adorable story about Daddy's that has very generic Daddy traits that any kid with a Dad can relate to。 Big colorful illustrations and few words make this a fun read for all ages。 An adorable story about Daddy's that has very generic Daddy traits that any kid with a Dad can relate to。 Big colorful illustrations and few words make this a fun read for all ages。 。。。more

My four-year-old son picked this book out from the library this week。 This book is good。 It is cute。 It is sweet。 It's just not great。 Or funny。 Or interesting。 The text is good。 It is cute。 It is sweet。 It's just not great。 Or funny。 Or interesting。 The artwork is good。 It is cute。 It is sweet。 It's just not great。 Or funny。 Or interesting。 In fact, the book reads a whole lot like this review。 My four-year-old son picked this book out from the library this week。 This book is good。 It is cute。 It is sweet。 It's just not great。 Or funny。 Or interesting。 The text is good。 It is cute。 It is sweet。 It's just not great。 Or funny。 Or interesting。 The artwork is good。 It is cute。 It is sweet。 It's just not great。 Or funny。 Or interesting。 In fact, the book reads a whole lot like this review。 。。。more
Jen,
I really liked this book。 The story rhymed, which I loved, and the illustrations were great fun, too。 The child is rather androgynous, so I think this story would make a great one for either a little boy or a little girl。 The book makes for a fantastic celebration of dads, especially silly dads! :-)
Hope,
This book is very sweet。 Simple and lovely little rhymes with cute illustrations。 Brought a smile to our faces。
Ingrid,
Sweet and simple。 I love Emma Dodds large scale illustrations for young readers。 The picture of fatherhood is a little on the traditional side, but should be acceptable to most families。 There is no mother at all, so it would work for single and same-sex families。 The rhyme scheme is a little sing-song, but is vert toddler friendly。
Christian Houseworth,
I really enjoyed reading this book。 This book is written from the point of view of a small child who talks about all the many reasons why he loves his daddy。 This book is very engaging with the large print and colorful illustrations。 Also, the text uses repetition and rhyming which is great for the younger audience。 I found this book stand out because there are not a lot of books out there that talk about fathers, especially for younger students。As a teacher, this book would be great to use for I really enjoyed reading this book。 This book is written from the point of view of a small child who talks about all the many reasons why he loves his daddy。 This book is very engaging with the large print and colorful illustrations。 Also, the text uses repetition and rhyming which is great for the younger audience。 I found this book stand out because there are not a lot of books out there that talk about fathers, especially for younger students。As a teacher, this book would be great to use for primary grades (specifically pre-k and kindergarten) during the first weeks of school when they have trouble adjusting from home to school and leaving their parents; it would be a great book to read during morning meeting。 Also, I could use this book when doing a unit on families and or, around Father’s day to inspire children to write about their fathers。 This book allows small children to understand and explore the importance of their fathers and or male figures。 This book, along with the I Love My Mommy book, would also be great to use when opening a discussion about single parenting and differences in family structures。 Overall, this book is great to use at home and in school。 。。。more
Gale,
I have no doubt children will enjoy this typical picture book about the relationship between the toddler and the dad。 I liked that from the illustrations and the words, the child could be either a boy or a girl。 It includes all the typical daily activities between the two characters。 It was not exceptional nor unique but it was still something I would not hesitate to buy for a grandchild or my own child。 They would love it。

Age: InfantBig, bold pictures set atop blank space provide a visually appealing book for the younger audience。 The rhymes are simple and the pictures match。 The detailed action in the pictures can be observed closer and talked about between the reader and the listener providing an engaging read。
